O Windows 8 está pronto! Microsoft disponibiliza versão final de avaliação voltada para desenvolvedores.

Ao que parece, o Windows 8 finalmente está pronto. Prova disso é que a Microsoft acabou de tirar do forno a versão final da sua plataforma voltada para desenvolvedores.
A ideia dessa edição é permitir que as empresas e programadores de aplicativos e jogos comecem a trabalhar em versões de seus produtos completamente adaptadas para o sistema operacional da empresa de Redmond – que deve ser oficialmente lançado no dia 26 de outubro.
Assim como na edição Release Preview, o Windows 8 Evaluation for Developers também possui suporte para o português em todo o sistema. Com isso, você pode conhecer com mais facilidade e propriedade um pouco daquilo que a plataforma tem a oferecer.

Observações importantes
Apesar de ser criado para desenvolvedores, você pode experimentar o Windows 8 Evaluation for Developers na sua casa. Contudo, é de suma importância que você fique atento para alguns fatos.
Primeiramente, é válido ressaltar que o SO, em teoria, está em fase de desenvolvimento, ou seja, ele ainda pode apresentar instabilidades, incompatibilidades e falhas de reprodução – embora os relatos sobre esses tipos de eventos sejam muito raros. Portanto, você não deve utilizá-lo como plataforma-padrão para suas atividades no PC.
Além disso, os softwares que fazem parte das versões de teste do Windows 8 podem ser modificados sem prévio aviso. O sistema operacional é oferecido “as is”, e o usuário assume o risco de utilizá-lo, uma vez que ele pode não ser estável.

Por ser uma edição de avaliação, o Windows 8 Evaluation for Developers tem sua licença de uso expirada depois de 90 dias. Após esse período, o sistema deixará de ser atualizado pela empresa.
Devido a isso, a própria Microsoft sugere que esta plataforma seja instalada em máquinas virtuais. Clique aqui para descobrir como fazer isso. É importante salientar que a empresa de Redmond não prestará suporte técnico para esta versão do SO. Por fim, devemos salientar que o Windows 8 Evaluation for Developers pode não operar corretamente ou ter o mesmo desempenho que a versão comercial.

Nova interface
Esta é a mudança mais sensível em relação às versões anteriores. O Windows 8 apresenta uma nova interface ao estilo Metro: um layout limpo, simples e personalizável, com animações que deixam o computador mais interativo.
De início, você se depara com a nova tela "Start", contendo os mosaicos característicos da Metro UI. Os quadrados são dinâmicos, quer dizer, sempre atualizados. Por exemplo, o aplicativo de tempo e temperatura mostra o clima de qualquer cidade em tempo real.

Não falta integração com programas Windows Live, e é muito simples conectar a sua conta com o sistema operacional. O compartilhamento de conteúdo também é bastante facilitado. Por exemplo, se você quer enviar imagens por email, pode pegá-las do Facebook, do Flickr e do seu disco rígido a partir de uma única tela.
É possível reorganizar o mosaico como você preferir, bastando arrastar os quadrados para onde você quiser. Qualquer atalho pode ser facilmente removido, clicando com o botão direito sobre ele e marcando a opção "Unpin".
A barra de buscas internas foi reformulada. Sempre que você digitar alguma palavra para buscar aplicativos ou documentos, poderá contar com filtros para refinar as pesquisas e facilitar o acesso a determinados arquivos.

Especial para o toque
O Windows 8 funciona em computadores convencionais e em tablets. Logo, todos os aplicativos, serviços e sistemas internos são compatíveis com toques na tela. O teclado virtual integrado é simples e oferece teclas grandes para evitar problemas referentes à digitação. Tarefas como copiar e colar são muito facilitadas com o suporte do novo sistema.
O Windows 8 tem compatibilidade nativa com a tecnologia USB 3.0, o que garante a transmissão e transferência de dados com bastante velocidade. Se o tablet ou computador for equipado com sensores NFC, rapidamente podem ser feitas análises de produtos e outros aparelhos que contêm a mesma tecnologia.
Canetas stylus podem ser utilizadas para desenhos ou mesmo para escrever, pois o sistema identifica rapidamente os caracteres. Isso pode ser utilizado diretamente na tela (pelo touchscreen) ou por mesas digitalizadoras.

Compatibilidade com o desktop do Windows 7
Apesar de todas as modificações da interface Metro, o Windows 8 terá compatibilidade com seu antecessor. A Área de trabalho continua com a mesma cara: o papel de parede é o mesmo, a Barra de tarefas segue o padrão e os ícones também são idênticos. A primeira mudança notável é no botão do Menu Iniciar: deixando o cursor do mouse sobre ele, abrem-se um relógio e um menu com atalhos para configurações, dispositivos, compartilhamento e busca.
A segunda modificação sensível é que todas as janelas do sistema têm o padrão Ribbon, do Office. Há sempre ferramentas disponíveis, dependendo do arquivo ou pasta que você seleciona. Essa barra é facilmente escondida por uma simples seta, assim, quem não gosta do recurso não precisa lidar com ele sempre.
Há também modificações sutis na Barra de títulos. Os ícones estão ainda mais caprichados, e agora o texto é centralizado. Há muito capricho também na janela do Gerenciador de tarefas: ela utiliza cores para que as informações sejam compreendidas com mais facilidade. Quanto mais pesado um processo, mais forte é a cor dele. Assim, ele está sempre destacado. Há muitos gráficos que esclarecem o uso de processador, memória, disco e conexões de rede.

Para quem usa mais de um monitor, é possível configurá-los para que exibam, ao mesmo tempo, a nova tela "Start" e o já conhecido desktop do Windows 7. O Windows 8 também se adapta facilmente a qualquer resolução , o que ajuda aqueles usuários que usam um monitor mais antigo.

Windows Store
A Windows Store vai reunir diferentes aplicativos em categorias de fácil exploração. Programas considerados ótimos serão destacados, assim como aqueles mais baixados. Todos os apps para o Windows 8 Release Preview são gratuitos. Após o lançamento da versão final do SO, serão disponibilizados outros softwares a diferentes preços, sendo possível testá-los antes de comprar.
O acesso à loja é facilitado por um atalho na interface Metro. Os aplicativos são organizados por gêneros e preços, com screenshots, descrição e análise de usuários, como acontece no Android Market e na AppStore.
É bastante simples enviar os softwares criados para a loja, e há um detalhe interessante: antes de serem divulgados e disponibilizados para o público, os programas precisam passar por uma avaliação da própria Microsoft, o que deve prevenir a presença de arquivos infectados.

Internet Explorer 10
O Internet Explorer 10 está muito diferente no ambiente Metro. A barra de endereço agora está localizada na parte de baixo e há poucos botões. Para ganhar ainda mais espaço, é possível escondê-la. Assim, a tela é preenchida totalmente com a página exibida. O clique com o botão direito do mouse serve para adicionar novas abas. Um detalhe bastante agradável são as notificações, como quando um download é concluído.

As novidades desta versão
Muitas das melhorias implementadas no Windows 8 Evaluation for Developers não são aparentes, como correções de alguns bugs e aperfeiçoamentos dos seus recursos de segurança – algo que quase sempre acontece entre uma edição e outra dos sistemas operacionais.
Contudo, esta versão também conta com novidades que você logo perceberá. A primeira delas é na animação de inicialização, que agora possui o logotipo do Windows 8 e uma roda que permanece girando durante o boot. Porém, ainda não se sabe se esse será o padrão para a edição comercial da plataforma.
A tela de bloqueio do SO também teve mudanças, passando a apresentar novas imagens – como montanhas localizadas em Washington. Acompanhando essa tendência, a tela inicial do sistema é outro recurso que teve seu repositório de planos de fundo aumentado.

Outra característica facilmente notada é a ausência do Aero, o recurso do Windows 7 que tornava as janelas e barras de ferramentas transparentes. Com isso, o visual do Windows 8 Evaluation for Developers é mais opaco e chapado.
Além disso, a Windows Store foi praticamente inaugurada. A loja de aplicativos criada especialmente para a nova plataforma da Microsoft já está viabilizando o processo completo de venda de programas. Ela ainda ganhou um maior número de softwares ofertados.
